New Faces at Paulsen

January 28, 2014

Tim Schoffelman is Paulsen’s Director of Digital Services. Tim grew up in Worthing, South Dakota. He has an associate’s degree in Youth Ministry, a bachelor’s degree in Information Technology and has CSM certification in Scrum Agile Project Management. He is a member of the Sioux Empire Chapter of the Project Management Institute.

“I’m most excited to discover unrealized opportunities for web-based apps for the ag industry,” Tim says. “It seems like there is so much potential out there with data being collected that I’ve not yet seen organizations capitalize on.”

In his downtime, Tim spends as much time as possible with his family. Tim and his wife serve together on the worship team for their church. He is also involved with the Dispatch Project, which takes local businessmen and women on out of country mission trips.

“My background is in full-time web development,” Tim adds. “And although I no longer program on a full-time basis, I’m trying to stay involved within the local development community by attending monthly meet-ups and spend about five to ten hours a week programming apps and websites.”

Paulsen welcomes Joanie Beaner as Media Coordinator. Joanie grew up working on her parent’s farm near Parker, South Dakota. After attending Buena Vista University in Iowa for marketing, she spent eight years working in media in Wisconsin and Washington, D.C. In 2011, she left for Africa to help communities start sustainable businesses that will generate income for their people. She found the lessons she learned on the farm also applied to the rest of life: make it effective, efficient and sustainable.

“I now realize what is authentic in life, and have returned to the place I grew up,” Joanie says. “I look forward to raising cows and chickens and growing fruits and vegetables to help support the local food banks. I’m excited to help Paulsen’s clients using the lessons I’ve learned on the farm and through my marketing experience. I’m so glad to be back in South Dakota spending time with family as well as running, biking, kayaking and drinking cold brew with the neighbors!”
