Creating Effective Communications

September 19, 2016

Like any organization, your co-op has a purpose, an image and a story to tell.

What happens if you don’t tell that story? People make up their own stories about you. And they may be incorrect, at best, or destroy your co-op’s reputation, at worst.

How can you take control?

Communicate with your audiences.

This includes members, employees, communities where you’re located and the general public.

Craft and tell a compelling story.

Every story is good if you tell it properly. If you’re having trouble seeing the forest for the trees, which is a common problem, get outside help.

Spread it far and wide.

Make use of multiple venues to share your story, including newsletters, annual reports, website, blog, social media, ad campaigns and public relations activities.
