As a dynamic leader in U.S. agribusiness, Basse is a seasoned executive with a history of successfully heading up teams and developing people. When asked by the U.S. President of Zoetis to bring change to pork operations in the U.S., Basse rose to the challenge, working to grow U.S. market share from 17 percent to 38 percent. She visits with Sara Steever about the challenges and rewards of leadership, and lessons she learned on her way to the top.

Formerly the VP, U.S. Pork Business at Zoetis, Basse has served in marketing, sales and leadership roles in the animal health industry for 30 years. She has a history of successfully leading dynamic organizations to drive performance and a unique ability to lead teams and develop people. She is known for identifying strategic opportunities that have radically changed the market and positively transformed business models. Basse earned a degree in animal science and agricultural journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and an MBA from William E. Simon Graduate School of Business at the University of Rochester, N.Y.
