In her leadership role at Zoetis, Wendy Pinkerton works with colleagues and stakeholders to ensure choices related to animal health products, services, solutions and a robust future for Zoetis customers. She grew up on a farm and has spent much of her career in ag marketing communications. Pinkerton shares her story with Sara Steever along with advice on career advancement and women helping one another.
Wendy Pinkerton is senior manager, U.S. industry relations at Zoetis. Previously, Pinkerton was a founding senior partner of Demeter Communications, where she helped agricultural producers and those throughout the food chain understand the methods, motivations and complexities of getting safe, high-quality food from farm to table. She began her communications career as an editor at Drovers Journal and later as the research communications expert for the National Live Stock and Meat Board. Pinkerton grew up on her family’s northern Illinois crop and livestock farm, where she was involved in 4-H, showing cattle and hogs. She also gained leadership experience through 4-H and purebred cattle associations. Pinkerton earned a bachelor of science degree in agricultural communications from the University of Illinois and a master of science in animal science/meat science from the University of Florida.
