New Responsibilities and New Faces at Paulsen

Paul Brough has been promoted to web application engineer user interface architect. He joined Paulsen as a front-end web developer in 2010. Paul is a native of Colorado Springs, Colorado, where he lives and works remotely for Paulsen. He graduated from the University of South Dakota with a degree in contemporary media and journalism, advertising, marketing and design.

Krystil Smit has been promoted to public relations director. Krystil has 18 years of experience as an ag communicator. Before joining Paulsen in 2011, Krystil was a writer and editor for the regional farm newspaper, Tri-State Neighbor. Prior to that she served as the communications director for the South Dakota Corn Growers Association/South Dakota Corn Utilization Council. Krystil holds a Bachelor of Science degree in agricultural journalism, with a minor in animal science, from South Dakota State University.

Tara Young has been promoted to digital project manager. Her new duties will include site research, competitive analysis, content management, usability testing, resource identification and internal project management. Prior to joining Paulsen, Tara was the marketing manager at the Mettler Center, a whole-life fitness center. She holds a B.S. in business administration from the University of South Dakota.

Allyse Thaler is administrative assistant to our president, Greg Guse. She is a graduate of the University of South Dakota, with a major in business marketing and a minor in public relations and advertising. She joined Paulsen after numerous internships and jobs related to the marketing and advertising field.

Tom Koeller joins our team as the digital services coordinator. Tom has a Bachelor of Science degree in advertising from South Dakota State University. While attending SDSU, he was the advertising manager of the campus newspaper, The Collegian.
