Paulsen Serves at The Banquet

February 22, 2019

On Thursday, February 21, the Paulsen crew spent their early morning volunteering and serving breakfast at The Banquet, a volunteer-based meal ministry in Sioux Falls.

“Every year we enjoy volunteering at The Banquet,” says Marcus Squier, VP, account services. “It’s an opportunity to give back to the community and make new friends.”

The first shift began at 5:30 a.m., preparing breakfast. On the menu that morning were a sausage, egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, yogurt and fruit. The next shift started at 6:30 a.m. Paulsen, along with other volunteers, served food, poured coffee and milk, socialized with the guests, washed dishes and cleaned the dining area.

If anybody is looking for a great volunteer opportunity, we recommend sponsoring and serving a meal at The Banquet. The organization provides and serves 13 meals weekly at two locations. In 2017, The Banquet served 196,000 meals. At least 25,000 of those meals were served to children under 12. For more information please visit thebanquetsf.org/serve-a-meal.
