President Sara Steever Shares Advice at NAMA Boot Camp

August 20, 2018

What are the two essentials for success in your career in agribusiness? Paulsen President Sara Steever shared advice and research with NAMA Boot Camp attendees on August 17 in a presentation titled From the Experts: Career Advice at NAMA Boot Camp.

Quotes from leaders interviewed for the Spark: Careers in Agribusiness podcast were compiled and shared with over 100 attendees at the event.

“I have learned so much from everyone I’ve interviewed for the Spark podcast,” says Steever. “Adding outside research to the presentation helped bring the advice from our podcast episodes to life in a practical way.”

According to Steever, the essentials boiled down to two themes: The brand called you and building a strategic network.

The brand called you encourages continuous learning and adopting a growth mindset. It also includes developing the self-compassion and resilience needed for taking risks during the process of growing and improving.

Building a strategic network focuses on tactics such as making the most of networking events, improving listening skills and benefiting from mentoring.
