Sarah Hill Joins Paulsen as Public Relations Specialist

March 7, 2018

Paulsen welcomes Sarah Hill, who came on board as public relations specialist on January 23, 2018.

“We’re delighted to bring Sarah’s expertise to the table for our clients,” says Sara Steever, president. “She has a solid ag background and nearly 10 years of communications experience.”

Prior to joining Paulsen, Sarah freelanced for clients including the American Angus Association, the South Dakota State University College of Agriculture and other organizations. Her previous experience also includes serving as managing editor at DairyBusiness Communications and public relations associate at MorganMyers.

“I’m excited to work with Paulsen clients on leveraging PR strategy and tactics, media relations and social media to increase awareness and positive perception of their companies, brands, products and efforts,” says Sarah.

“I also love working with and learning from so many talented people at Paulsen,” she adds.

A native of New Cambria, Mo., Sarah grew up on a 60-cow dairy. At age 16 she participated in the Missouri AgriBusiness Academy, sponsored by the Missouri Department of Agriculture, and discovered that she could combine her love of writing with her passion for agriculture.

Sarah went on to earn her B.S. in ag journalism and minor in animal science at the University of Missouri-Columbia. She is a member of the South Dakota Agricultural & Rural Leadership Class IX and was selected as a 2016 Alltech Young Leader in Agricultural Journalism by the International Federation of Agricultural Journalists.

“I really like the people in agriculture,” she says. “They’re so down-to-earth and unassuming. It’s fun to tell stories about these people, who would not normally be in the limelight.”

Sarah lives on a farm with her husband, two daughters, one dog and 13 chickens near Hetland, S.D. She enjoys vegetable gardening and reading.
