Ag United Celebrates a Decade of Advocating for Farm and Ranch Families

December 10, 2014

Ag United for South Dakota marked 10 years of supporting South Dakota farm and ranch families during its annual meeting held Dec. 9 in Sioux Falls. Several Paulsen team members attended the event to support Ag United’s milestone.

Rod Snyder, president of Field To Market: The Alliance for Sustainable Agriculture, delivered the keynote address at the luncheon. Field To Market is an alliance of more than 70 organizations which represents grower associations; agribusinesses; food, beverage, restaurant and retail companies; conservation groups; universities; and public sector partners to focus on defining, measuring and advancing the sustainability of food, fiber and fuel production.

Snyder defined sustainability as meeting the needs of the present while improving the ability of future generations to meet their own needs. He shared information about measurement tools and resources for growers and the supply chain that track and create opportunities for continuous improvement at the farm level.
