Once again dairy producers from throughout the Midwest gathered in Sioux Falls, S.D., to attend the Central Plains Dairy Expo, March 25-26. Both the number of exhibitors and dairy producers attending the two-day show was up significantly from last year.
Paulsen staffers Danita Tegethoff, account activity manager, and Greg Guse, executive vice president, attended the Expo held in Paulsen’s hometown.
“I was amazed at how much the Central Plains Dairy Expo has grown over the past several years,” noted Tegethoff. “The trade show has expanded considerably with exhibitors in the hallways of the Convention Center and a large number in the Arena as well. The Expo has become a premier event for the Midwest dairy industry,” she added.
Paulsen clients Soy Best, Ecolab and Hubbard Feeds were among the exhibitors participating in the trade show.
Randy Ortmeier, merchandising manager for Soy Best, was pleased with the traffic stopping by his booth.
“This show has become a very good opportunity for us to connect with dairy producers in the four-state area,” said Ortmeier. “I’m also somewhat surprised at the distance some dairy producers have traveled to attend this show. It says to me that this event is growing in importance and popularity.”
Guse noted the growth of the dairy industry along the I-29 corridor as a catalyst for growth of the Central Plains Dairy Expo.
“As we’ve seen more dairy processors expand here in eastern South Dakota, we’ve seen a big increase in demand for milk. Growth and expansion of the dairy industry is a direct result,” he explained. “It seems only natural for an industry event like the Dairy Expo to grow and expand accordingly.”
