East River Electric Selects Paulsen in Agency Review

August 22, 2017

East River Electric Power Cooperative, a wholesale power provider serving the eastern half of South Dakota and regions of western Minnesota, has selected Paulsen as its agency of record on behalf of its member cooperatives. East River is headquartered in Madison, S.D.

Chris Studer, chief member and public relations officer, and Shayla Ebsen, marketing and communications manager, oversaw the multi-agency review in conjunction with the East River Electric Communications and Marketing Committee, which includes representatives from the 24 rural electric cooperatives and one municipality that comprise the East River Power system.

“Our family of Touchstone Energy Cooperatives is excited to begin working with Paulsen,” said Ebsen. “After an extensive agency search process, we selected Paulsen for their deep understanding of our membership and the opportunities and challenges we face, for their commitment to the agriculture and rural lifestyle communities and for their fresh ideas to evolve our marketing efforts.”

Paulsen President Sara Steever expressed the agency’s excitement over the opportunity to represent the Touchstone Energy brand in eastern South Dakota and western Minnesota. “We are thrilled to begin working with this significant new client,” she said.

“Our work for East River’s member cooperatives will touch virtually all aspects of our services including strategy, creative, media, digital and public relations. This will be a wonderful opportunity to share our experience and knowledge in serving both the agricultural and rural lifestyle markets. We’re thrilled to add such a respected organization to our client roster,” she added.
