Four Paulsen team members attended this year’s NAMA Agri-Marketing Conference in Kansas City, Mo., from April 10-12. A highlight of the event was the Best of NAMA show where Paulsen was honored to bring home two first place and two merit trophies from among the 1,200 entries this year. Kristi Moss, group media director; Brittany Lessman, account specialist; Hannah Gebauer, account specialist; and Sara Steever, president, were present for the ceremony.
Paulsen’s winning entries were:
The conference also included a day and a half of educational and motivational keynote speakers and breakout sessions. Magician Vinh Giang taught about the surprising importance of perspective, and Bonin Bough shared how he helped build brands like Oreo and Nilla through digital communities.
Forrest Gallante, wildlife biologist and host of Extinct or Alive on Animal Planet, delivered the closing keynote. He shared the harrowing story of his family being forced from their farm in South Africa and discussed the determination that landed him his successful show.
Part of the agri-marketing conference also includes the work of running the organization. Sara Steever is NAMA’s president-elect this year and is in the fifth of six years serving on the NAMA Executive Committee.
“NAMA is very important to us as an agency,” says Steever. “It provides our staff with educational and leadership opportunities that don’t exist anywhere else. NAMA has recently undertaken strategic planning to get out in front of the trends in both marketing and agriculture.”
Steever adds, “It’s incredibly rewarding to be a part of an organization that embraces a high level of forward thinking—and that benefits from the commitment of leading agribusinesses, ag media and agencies as we work to meet the challenges of today.”
