Women in Agribusinesses Connect from Around the World

October 2, 2018

Over 750 women professionals in the field of agriculture gathered in Denver, Colo., September 24-26, 2018, to network and learn from one another.

Topics ranged from soil health to workplace culture, big data and blockchain. A lot of discussion revolved around the challenges and opportunities present today in ag. Crops such as hemp and cannabis are opening up markets and revenue, but also have unique problems for the producer.

Workforce needs also dominated some sessions and conversations that spanned immigration and employee retention. Participants discussed consumer influences and trends. Alternative proteins, known as lab meat—and their funding from traditional agribusinesses—were a controversial topic among the crowd.

Networking is always a highlight of Women in Agribusiness as it brings together accomplished women from a diverse cross-section of job roles within agriculture. The 2019 Women in Agribusiness event will be in Minneapolis, Minn. Please contact Sara Steever if you plan to attend!
