In her position at the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce, Holly Behrens hopes to educate people about the importance of agriculture. “If you eat a meal and wear clothes, then agriculture is important to you,” she says. She credits a strong support system for helping her reach her goals. Behrens offers tips on making career decisions and achieving success.

Holly Behrens is the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce agri-business division manager. In this role she helps advance and promote the Sioux Empire as an agricultural center through programs and events. Previously she was auctions coordinator in the agricultural competitions and exhibits division of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo (HLSR). Holly graduated with her B.S. in animal science from Texas A&M University, where she was part of the 2013 National Champion TAMU Livestock Judging team. She earned a master’s in international agriculture from Oklahoma State University, with all her research completed in Queensland, Australia. She grew up on a small cow-calf operation near Olivia, Texas, participated in 4-H and FFA, and showed cattle and hogs.
