Sara grew up on a farm near Marengo, Iowa, and was encouraged by her family to try new things. “It wasn’t about thinking of things you couldn’t do. It was like, why not try it and see if you can?” she says. She has received numerous awards, including an Oscar in Agriculture, for her work in communications and agriculture, and is highly respected in the industry. Sara talks with host Sara Steever about listening, learning and leading.
Sara Wyant is President of Agri-Pulse Communications, Inc., with offices in Washington, D.C. and Camdenton, Missouri. As a veteran farm policy reporter, she is well recognized on Capitol Hill, as well as with farm and commodity associations across the country. The Agri-Pulse newsletter and website include the latest updates on farm policy, commodity and conservation programs, trade, food safety, rural development, and environmental and regulatory programs. Wyant was previously a representative on the National FFA Foundation Board of Trustees, served as chair of the Farm Foundation’s Board of Trustees and as past president of the American Agricultural Editor’s Association. She has won many industry awards and frequently speaks at farm and commodity associations around the country. Wyant grew up on a farm near Marengo, Iowa, and is still involved with her family’s farming operation.
