For Women Only: How to Get Ahead in Agribusiness

While 31 percent of American farmers are women, according to the USDA, a much smaller percentage of agribusiness leaders are female.
Still, there’s no shortage of talented women leaders, according to Sara Steever, the host of the Spark: Women in Agribusiness podcast series and president of Paulsen.
Each episode of the podcast features Steever interviewing a woman in agribusiness.
“There are amazing women working at all levels of agriculture,” Steever says. “It’s a privilege to hear their stories and find out how they became successful.”
One thing all the women have in common is their conviction that more women should pursue careers in agriculture.
“Our agriculture and food systems will be making incredible innovations and solving tremendous problems in the years ahead,” Steever says. “We’re going to need smart women and men with a variety of different backgrounds and life experiences to lead us into the future.”
